"I will always be grateful to Robert Morris for what the school did for me, and I feel very strongly about helping to give others, particularly U.S. military veterans, the opportunity to have the same success that I had. That's why I have decided to fund a modest scholarship program there for veterans and to include additional funding for this scholarship in my will."
Ray Wojszynski '80 graduated magna cum laude after attending evening classes downtown for three years. Ray earned a BSBA in Management, after transferring from the University of Pittsburgh where he also attended evening classes. He had worked full time for an engineering company downtown, and paid the full cost of his education, having received no scholarships or tuition aid from his employer. Ray notes that his education at Pitt and Robert Morris cost him about $7,600 total, including books. That seems quite inexpensive now, but it wasn't back in the 70s.
"I credit the degree I earned from Robert Morris with helping me get a job at what was then Westinghouse, where I worked for just over 32 years. I credit my RMU education, along with the analytical and critical thinking skills that I learned there, for the success I had in my career, mostly as a buyer of metals for two locations of the company. The structure of the degree program along with some really great help and guidance from my academic advisor made it very easy for me to plan my course schedule. I attended classes at Robert Morris year round, three nights a week for all but two semesters."
